What Do You Wear When Traveling To a Destination

What do you wear when traveling to your destination?

What you wear can make the difference between misery and comfort when you are stuffed into a cramped plane or are sitting for long periods in a car, bus or train.

I find wearing clothes that feel as comfy and relaxed as pajamas makes traveling less taxing.

What can you wear to look and feel good en route?

What fabrics can you choose so you don’t arrive at your destination looking like a crumpled up newspaper?

Which clothes feel most comfortable, look  good and don’t wrinkle

  • Knit clothes that are soft and stretchy

  • Clothes in your most flattering colors and styles

  • Clothes that are made with natural fibers

(You are less likely to sweat because natural fibers breath and allow your perspiration to evaporate more easily than synthetic fiber. Also, natural fiber when layered is a good insulator).

I prefer to wear pants rather than skirts for travel.  By wearing pants, you don’t have to worry about covering your bare legs and you can wear sturdy shoes or boots with pants and still look stylish.

Here is an interesting hoodie from a company called Betabrand.  It’s called a “women’s red eye travel wrap blanket.”

(Note: it only contains 42% natural fibers but because it’s especially made for traveling and has so many interesting features I wanted to tell you about it.)

WOMEN’S TRAVEL WRAP-CARDIGAN WITH BUILT-IN EYE MASK

Designer and sworn enemy of microbes Tony Wloch explains his creation:

I designed the Red-Eye Wrap to be your cozy companion on those dreadful overnight and early-morning flights.

Airplanes are generally gross and germy. You breathe recycled air, sit way too close to your neighbor, and those blankets and pillows they give you … well, they aren’t necessarily the most hygienic things around.

Enter the Red-Eye Wrap. My wrap-cardigan hybrid is knitted with ultra-soft yarns and comes with a stuff sack for easy packing, so it can be safely and cleanly tucked away when you’re not using it.

Not only does the Red-Eye Wrap provide a snuggly boundary between you and a funky fuselage, it’s also super luxe and very cute. So sit back and relax with your in-flight cocktail and a trusty bottle of hand sanitizer.
